I continue to have a problem when trying to compare streams whose definitions look to be identical. They are both derived streams, short (2 byte) with identical base cycle, units and rollup calendars. They're even based upon the same input stream for derivation. However, I continue to get "The selected streams are not compatible for viewing together." Wazzup?

Odd. Are they the same type (regular vs interval)? Another way to compare streams is to drop them into the dashboard Time-Series table widget.

How do I tell after setting them up if they're regular or interval?

Look at the dots in the stream icon:

I looked at the logic that prevents streams from being compared in the stream viewer. The streams have to be the same type (Regular/Interval) and have to have the same cycles in their rollup calendars.

The Dashboard time-series widget doesn't care. Drop them onto there.

Nice tip on telling the difference! I've always wondered if there was a way.

They are, in fact, different types. I'm not sure why I wasn't consistent, but...
