Is it possible to do a derivation stream based on multiple derived streams ? I do not see the update message indicating recalculation and data does not seem to be updated after a couple of hours of waiting. It is still previous values which have been calculated that are given. |

Yes, it is possible. Look in your Job Notifications (envelope button in the studio toolbar) for any derivation errors that might be preventing the calculation from working. Make sure your derivation Effective Date setting is set early enough. |

Considering a stream that is a derivation of a derivation. When I change the formula or the derivation date, it is not taken in consideration. If I duplicate the stream, the data is good after calculation. No error in Job Notifications |

Derivation is an appending process. So if you change the formula, only newly derived values will be derived from the formula change. Ditto for the effective date. Right click on the stream being derived in observation studio, and choose to delete all sample data. This will cause the next derivation run to recalculate them all. There's a "Derivation is an appending process" caveat: By default, there is an advanced setting "on" to re-derive samples if a historical dependent stream sample changes or arrives. |
