| Wanting to create a derived stream expression based on a setting or individual stream value from the component the stream will be under. Can see how absolute paths can be used, however would like the derived stream to be part of the template or even update itself if copied to another component. Basically a static component variable to be used in an expression along with another stream within that component. Thanks John |

| Not sure I understand the question. I think it does what you're requesting. 1. If the derived stream within a template is referencing another stream within the template, the component created or reconciled with the template will have both streams with the derived stream referencing the stream within the component. It can't reference a stream in a template. 2. If the template has a derived stream referencing an external stream, a stream within another component. The component's derived stream will reference the same external stream. 3. A template derived stream's dependent variable stream can be "Reconcile Locked". This prevents the component's derived stream's external dependent variable stream reference from changing during the reconcile. 4. If you copy a component, all derived stream internal references are remapped to within the new component. 5. If you copy a folder, all internal references are remapped to each copy. Optionally, all external references are remapped to the external copied component (if it was also included in the folder copy). There's a checkbox asking if external references should be remapped during a folder copy. I think #1 is what you were asking. Missed your post. Sorry for the delay. |
